What happens at Tekkoshocon?
At Tekkoshocon, many different activities are going on at any point in time. Concerts, dances, video game tournaments, card game tournaments, panels, workshops, video screenings, and autograph sessions occur throughout the weekend. Our Guests of Honor are featured at several panels and Q&A sessions. We also have open video game, CCG, and RPG play sessions as well as a LARP (live action roleplaying game). Two contests are open for general viewing: the AMV Contest, where the audience votes on their favorite anime music videos, and the Masquerade, where attendees are treated to an evening of creative skits by costumers competing for prizes and recognition.
In addition to these activities there are several exhibit areas. In our Dealers' Room, you can find Japanese merchandise relating to anime, manga, and video games - and much more! Our Artists' Alley features a group of dedicated fan artists who sell original bookmarks, posters, buttons, jewelry, clothing, and even art prints suitable for framing and putting on your wall at home. The Art Show is a great place to see the best in fan artwork, and the Model Competition displays detailed plastic, resin, vinyl, paper, and scratch-built models of anime and video game characters, robots, and settings.
